Join Us in Chile – Study Abroad with LeTourneau University

LeTourneau's School of Graduate and Professional Studies study abroad program invites you to join us in an exploration of the business and cultural side of this progressive Latin American country. Academic credit to be offered on this trip will be MBAC 6623 or any pre-approved MBA course.

With the highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita of all Latin American countries, Chile has emerged as a significant economic force. Having doubled its per capita income in the past decade, its trade with the United States grew by eight percent in 2007.

Chile's business world is on the cutting edge, and you will have the unique opportunity to meet the people and visit the companies driving this business boom.

You will experience:

  • Panel discussions with expatriates
  • Entrepreneurs sharing their successes and adventures
  • Meetings with government experts
  • Tours of American manufacturers
  • Horseback riding, hiking, even a picnic lunch in the Andes mountains!
  • Other opportunities for devotion, recreation and Chilean cultural events

Adjunct professor Dr. Lois Hammond has led similar trips to China and Russia. She emphasizes the benefits of international exposure for MBA students, saying, "Today's business world is an ever-changing community reaching around the globe. The more international exposure students experience, the greater their chances are of thriving within that community."

How can international business experience help you?

  • Shows that you are culturally aware and take initiative to develop business contacts around the globe
  • Emphasizes your ability to communicate effectively with people of all cultural backgrounds
  • Helps you to understand and stay in touch with the global business world
  • There are many more skills and experiences you'll gain in Chile! When you're ready, contact Emily Ehmke to reserve your spot, or email Emily at EmilyEhmke@letu.edu.
